Are you licensed with the city of Calgary? Yes...I am licensed with both the City of Calgary and Alberta Health Services and have successfully completed the Food Handling Course with a provincial certificate.
Do you have Insurance? Yes..I have Liability insurance which is required by law to rent the commercial kitchen.
Do you offer Allergy restricted cakes such as Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free and Vegan? At this time I do not offer allergy restricted items.
Where in the city are you located? I am located in the N.W.
Do you have a cake minimum? Yes....I have a $80.00 cake minimum..
Do I have to spend alot of money to get a Custom cake? Not at all.....I have cakes in all prices ranges.. It all depends on the style of cake and the serving amount required.. I have cakes that start at $80.00 (feeds 12-15) and up to fit your budget needs.
Are your cakes fresh? Yes...Absolutely...All cakes are made to order. I do not bake in advance or freeze any cakes.
Do you bake from Scratch? I don't completely bake from scratch as that becomes very costly to buy raw ingredients, and in turn I would have to pass the cost onto my customers. Almost all my ingredients are purchased through a wholesale company. I do use some base mixes to start and add extra ingredients whenever needed which enhances the flavor and taste.The quality is exceptional and not at all compromised.
If I give you a family recipe will you bake the cake? Unfortunately I cannot use family recipes as I am not familiar with how they bake or standup to my decorating and could result in an inferior product.
Do you make your own Icing? Yes...All my buttercream icings are homemade delicious bakery whipped soft icing which is both non-sweet and tasty. I do use delicious pre-made Satin Ice fondant for all my fondant accent embellishments and fondant covered cakes which is Gluten-Free and Kosher.
Do you use Animal lard in your baking or Icings? No..All my icings are made with 100% vegetable shortening and do not contain any kind of pig gelatin etc.My colorings are professional grade and are also Certified Kosher. I take every precaution to respect the religious beliefs of my special clients.
Do you offer cake tastings or personal meetings? I do not offer tastings at this time. I will however meet with you if the cake is a larger cake such as a wedding cake where the details are critical. .Cake tastings are also not allowed as per Alberta Health Care regulations and liability insurance as I rent a kitchen outside my home.
Do you require a deposit? Yes....I require a 50% Non-Refundable deposit for all cake orders .Payment can be made through E-Transfer or Square Secure Payment system for Credit Cards...Should a customer cancel and re-order the cake for another date I can carry the deposit over to another date if available or toward another cake design but will not refund the deposit.
How far in advance should I book my order? I am booking 2-3 weeks in advance as I become booked very fast.
Do I need to bring anything with me when I pick up my cake? It is always advisable to have a small towel/blanket or purse to lay on the front seat because most front car seats are bucket shaped....we need to eliminate the slant. This will create a flat surface to set the cake box on...I never recommend that you put a tiered cake in the back hatch/seat of a vehicle whether someone is holding it or not. You need to be able to see the cake at all times to adjust your driving speed if necessary.
